Week Three

This week during business, we worked effectively as a group to complete many tasks. This week, we actually created our television advertisment. We used the mac computers from the senior library to film. We then used i-movie to put the whole thing together. Vanessa and Jaime were allicated main acting roles while Eliza and I were just kids in the last scene. Jaime dressed up in a bear suit to portray the role of 'Benny the Bear' while Vanessa was 'Euis', the friendly and over the top presenter. We also recorded a 'jingle' to play during the ad. We reworked the song 'one two tie your shoe' so it linked back to the world wildlife foundation and the whole animal theme. An example of this is the first line which we changed to 'one two save the shrew'.

I feel we worked really well as a team and completed almost all tasks effectively. An example of this was how we worked to create our television advertisment. When I have previously created prjects in terms of movies and other audio creatons, it can be a long and tedious proccess. The time it takes to film the different scenes, import sound files, add music and edit all together can really add up. Or group managed to complete this in only five days and we were able to do this because we were organised and prepared to do what was neccessary. We asked Sarah and Tiarna to help us and be in the final scence, but apart from that we were extremely self sufficient.

Individually, I did not progress very far in terms of my individual topic. I have created dot points of what I want to do but apart from that, I didn't really achieve anything. However, now that we have created our product, my speech about promotion will be much easier to construct. We have completed all known group work, so we will be able to concentrate on individual work during class.

During the construction of our movie, I have learnt how to work imovie and edit/put together projects. I feel confident completing this on my own. I was able to guide the group a little with some minor things as I own a mac book computer and that was what we were using to create the ad.

The individual members of our group worked really well this week which I feel was the main reason we were able to do so much work. Vanessa took the lead as she knew exactly what to do with the mac book applications. She knew exactly what to do and taught us all about it. Jaime was full of enthusiam, almost dying to get into the suit. Eliza was very helpfuk with everything. She though practically about how we could do everything, such as where to film the final scence and where we could record things. I feel I worked well and helped everyone. I was eager and ready to do what had to be done. I also contributed ideas.

From now until our assignment is due, I want to work really hard and achieve everything. I am confident that we will all be able to have our draft completed by Wednesday and then be able to present on Monday. I am a little nervous however, about memorizing my speech andpreparing our powerpoint.

At A Later Point:

Our assignment is due on Tuesday. I feel confident that we have worked well. We now have the weekend and Monday's lesson to prepare for our presentation. Yesterdays leeson was spent going through everyones speeches and all members of the group helped others, giving pointers and feedback. Everyones speech was very impressive and I think our presentation will come toghether really well.

Week Two

This week during business, we worked towards completing our tasks and worked well thought he week. The first task to be completed was choosing which individual topic was going to be completed. I am doing promotion, Jaime is doing product, Vanessa is doping price and Eliza is doing place. I think my topic will be challenging, but I will be able to complete it. During class lessons, I researched my topic and worked on how I was going to present it to the class. I will be talking about how we will promote our product and how we will be presenting it to potential buyers. During this, we worked together only a little, to help each other understand what we each needed to do and how to do it. I helped Jaime to understand hers particularly, as she has been away and needed extra assistance.

In addition to working on our individual topics, we finalized our finished product. We have written up a draft script and decided who will be doing and who will be responsible for different areas.

We successfully and efficiently chose our focus areas and everyone was satisfied with the area given. We worked as a team when it came to difficult areas and topics. We will help each other as some have harder topics than others.

I feel I didn't work up to my full potential when it came to the individual work. However, I now feel confident and able to get a good chunk of it done during the upcoming school week. It will also be made easier when we actually create the advertisement because then I will be able to refer and evaluate that.

Through the week, we talked about how we were to complete the television advertisement. We decided to create the product using imovie and we learnt and discussed that a little this week. I have used imovie before, so I feel confident doing this. We also wrote a draft script and decided what was going to happen. I think I work better in a group than individually, as I don't get distracted, although I can work well individually when I put my mind to it, especially if I am working on something which grabs my attention and interests me.
Our group worked effectively this week to complete what needed to be done. Jaime is full of positive energy and always has interesting and unique ideas which help the group structure what we are working on. Eliza is very helpful and always lends a hand when you need it. She also helps the group stay on task. Vanessa is always a step ahead of everyone else and helps us stick to the time limit. I feel that when ever a problematic situation occurs I am able to find a way to fix it and offer further suggestions.

I feel we worked really well as a group this week. I feel well prepared to work on my speech next week and know my group members are there to support me if I need assistance. We are on track and are sticking to the guide lines in relation to time. Next week we will actually film our advertisement and I think that will be a fun activity. I am enjoying working with my group and am looking forward to next week.

Week One

For my business assignment, I am in a group with Eliza McColl, Jaime Bradford and Vanessa Hogan. Our business assignment was given out on Thursday the 7th of May and during that lesson, we investigated different NPI’s (not for profit institutions) and after brainstorming multiple possibilities, we decided that we wanted to create a campaign for the world wide foundation because we agree with what it stands for. After choosing the Word Wildlife foundation, we investigated existing campaigns and we were confident in our choice.

We all agreed that making a television advertisement would be the most fun and effective way to reach our audience. We decided we wanted to put on a concert/show and advertise it on television. Tickets and merchandise will be sold to raise money for the WWF. We targeted the five year age group as our target audience. We the product appeals to them because it is a fun filled day. As a result of our target audience being so young, we are also appealing to the parents of young children. We are appealing to the parents by presenting a fun, safe and educational event. We worked effectively completing these tasks and we decided to have a 'mascot', Penny the panda, put on a show. All profits would go to the World Wildflie Foundation to support them and their efforts.

Our television ad will show a short segment of a concert, presenting it as fun and exciting. Our mascot, penny the panda, will perform and involve the audience. Penny the Panda will actually be Eliza dressed in a panda suit. We feel this will be effective because young children are interested in this kind of performance.

On Friday we wrote a paragraph as a group, talking about our target audience and what stratergies we would use to effectively connect with them. Cuddly animals and lots of bright, fun colours is a good way to achieve this so we are aiming for this in our campaign.

This week, members of our group worked as a whole to work effectively and get started on our assignment. Vanessa took the lead and got everyone on the right track early on. Jaime always has great ideas an dsuggestions to help us improve while Eliza works effectively, making sure we are all doing everything correctly. I feel I worked well this week and feel confident I will be able to continue to do so next week.
